Structure

The Master's programme 
"Battery Materials and Technology" (M.Sc.) comprises modules with a total of 120 ECTS credits. It offers a broad range of modules, which are structured into the following module areas:

  • Alignment Modules
  • Compulsory Modules
  • Elective Modules.

In their first semester, students take alignment modules, taking into account their previous education, in those areas in which they have not yet gained sufficient familiarity. Considering the subject breadth, first semester also provides students with battery-specific basic knowledge and initial interdisciplinary in-depth knowledge in the areas of battery system technology, battery materials, and electrochemistry.

In the compulsory curriculum of their second semester, all students extend their knowledge of the material and system side of the battery as well, as the internal processes within a battery cell, in order to gain an overall understanding of the battery. Meanwhile, the compulsory elective modules allow individual in-depth to pursue your specialization.

 

The third semester is characterized by the joint seminar with the related degree programme "Batterietechnik" and the research modules. With them, you gain insight into current research and apply what you have learned.

The programme concludes with the master's thesis.
